Victoria Police hunt for predator after child sex attack at Hampton Park

Police are on the hunt for an older man who sexually assaulted a boy at a Melbourne shopping centre bathroom on Boxing Day.

The horrifying incident took place inside the public bathrooms at Hampton Park Shopping Centre, in the city’s southeast, about 3.30pm.

Investigators have been told a 10-year-old boy was in the bathroom when he was approached by the unknown man.

The man sexually assaulted the boy before leaving the area.

The man is believed to be caucasian in appearance and aged between 50 and 60.

He was wearing a black beanie, black jacket, light brown pants, black sandals and pair of glasses.

The pair were not known to each other.

Dandenong Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Team detectives have released an image and footage of a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
