Man charged with killing young South Australian mum Synamin Bell

South Australian police say a man charged with murdering a young mum of three was a frequent visitor to her home, but they are still trying to figure out the exact nature of the pair’s relationship.

The Limestone Coast town of Millicent was rocked over the weekend following the death of Synamin Bell, 26, who was found dead in her Poole St home late on Saturday night.

A 25-year-old man, who police allege was found on the street outside the home, was arrested and charged with Ms Bell’s murder.

Police say the pair were known to each other but are still trying to verify the exact nature of their relationship.

“We are talking to family and friends so we can put together the picture of exactly how they knew each other,” Limestone Coast officer-in-charge Superintendent Campbell Hill told a media conference on Sunday.

“It is devastating and it is shocking.

“It is a tragic circumstance which will reverberate and has reverberated across the community.”

According to a fundraiser started in her name, Ms Bell had three children aged six, four and three.

“Synamin was loved by all and those lucky enough to have known her were blessed by her generosity and loyalty. No matter what may have been happening in her own life, she was never unavailable,” the GoFundMe page reads.

“She was trying her hardest with limited resources and support, trying to be the best mum she could be.”

Neighbours told The Advertiser that xjmtzywthe man arrested by police was often seen sitting on the front steps with Ms Bell.

The accused has been taken to the Mount Gambier Police Station to be interviewed by detectives and will remain in custody until he appears in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
