Man accused of pretending to be paramedic charged with rape

An Ipswich man accused of claiming to be a qualified paramedic has also been charged with rape and assault offences.

The 32-year-old Goodna man has been charged with five counts of common assault and single counts of claiming to be qualified to practice as a health professional, rape, wilful damage and contravening a domestic violence order.

The man was refused police bail to appear at Richlands’ Magistrates Court on Monday.

Investigations are continuing, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.

Police have reminded people who have experienced sexual assault that there are multiple ways to report what has happened.
