Hervey Bay murder charge: Man to face court after 62yo found dead at business complex

A Queensland man is due to face a murder charge after he was found at the scene of a suspicious death near Hervey Bay airport.

Police were called to a business complex at Urangan at 8am on Monday and found the body of a 62-year-old man with head injuries.

Another man, a 57-year-old from Urangan, was located at the scene and arrested.

He has been charged with murder and was due to face the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.

Hervey Bay police were on Monday night guarding the crime scene and have appealed to witnesses who may have seen a white 2020 Toyota LandCruiser Prado in the area between 6am and 8am on Monday morning.

Drivers with dashcam footage of the vehicle travelling from the Hervey Bay industrial area near the airport down Booral Rd and onto Elizabeth St towards Esplanade at Urangan are asked to come forward.

The car may also have stopped at the Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens onxjmtzyw Elizabeth St.
