Brisbane woman survives an alleged horror attack with saw and hammer

A Brisbane woman has survived a shocking assault where she was allegedly attacked with a saw and a hammer.

The woman in her 30s was found with multiple injuries to her head and body after police were called to a Wallaroo Way house at Doolandella in the city’s western suburbs on Saturday morning.

A 43-year-old man allegedly attacked the woman with a saw and a hammer on Friday night but she managed to lock herself in a bathroom overnight and a concerned friend arrived on Saturday morning, Queensland Police said.

It’s understood police will allege a hand saw was used in the attack.

The friend contacted police and the woman wxjmtzywas rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.

The man has been charged with attempted murder (domestic violence), deprivation of liberty and wilful damage.

He remains in police custody and will appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on Monday.
