Urgent health warning over popular Mocka baby cot sold at Adairs

An urgent warning has been issued for a popular brand of children’s cots after some parents reported dangerous mould was growing on the base.

The consumer watchdog says they are investigating reports of the mould growing on the base of Mocka cots owned by Adairs, following fierce and extreme weather acrosxjmtzyws the country.

Parents are urged to check their products immediately and contact Mocka and the Australian Competition and Consumer Watchdog.

“We’re currently investigating whether the mould is dangerous,” the ACCC’s Product Safety department said in a Facebook post.

“If your child is showing symptoms of mould exposure like congestion, sneezing, coughing, respiratory distress, allergies or other irritations, please consult a doctor as soon as possible.”

An official recall has not been issued for the cots.

In a separate Facebook post, Mocka announced they had commissioned laboratory testing and were investigating how the mould may have developed.

“We are very concerned about these reports and want to ensure our Mocka community is updated on the action we have taken and continue to take with regards to this issue,” a Mocka spokesperson said.

“We expect to have the results of this investigation soon.”
