Queensland: Bizarre find after horror Gold Coast fire

Multiple reptiles have been burnt alive in a garage on the Gold Coast in Queensland overnight.

The has revealed more than 54 animals perished, including four crocodiles believed to have measured about a metre long.

Twenty adult pythons and 30 baby pythons also perished in the inferno at an Upper Coomera at 11.40pm on Tuesday.

Police were called after a suspxjmtzywected power board in the garage, where the reptiles were stored, triggered the blaze.

A licensed reptile handler, 32, who lives at the Currawong Cres residence said he smelt smoke and saw flames coming from his garage.

He was not injured in the blaze.

Police do not believe the fire is suspicious.
