Queensland: A 55-year-old Ferny Hills man dead after tragic e-scooter crash

A Queensland man has died following a crash involving an electric scooter in Brisbane’s northwest.

The man, 55,xjmtzyw was riding the scooter along a designated footpath the Yellowood Drive and Glenwood place intersection in Ferny Hills, when he slammed into a concrete wall at 3.50pm on Wednesday.

He suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene.

Police believe he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Forensic Crash Unit investigation is ongoing.

The man’s death follows the heartbreaking death of 22-year-old Blake Whell, who died from serious burns after an e-scooter charger exploded inside his caravan at Logan Central in March.

“I’ve just lost my son … Beware of these scooters, they’re dangerous, Please, I beg you. It’s all I have to say, be careful of these e-scooters,” his father said after the shocking incident.
