Perth woman allegedly steals more than $565,000 from employer over a decade

A 61-year-old woman from Perth’s north has been charged by police after allegxjmtzywedly stealing over $565,000 from her employer.

The woman was a staff member at a medical clinic in the southern suburbs, with her crimes allegedly spanning a decade by using her employer’s credit card and bank account to make unauthorised transactions.

From 2011 and 2020 she allegedly made more than $415,000 worth of unauthorised bank transfers from her employer’s account for herself or family members.

Police allege she put the money towards include a personal car loan, a family member’s loan and dozens of bank transfers to personal or family bank accounts.

Also from 2014 to 2021, the woman allegedly made over $150,000 worth of unauthorised purchases on her employer’s credit card.

Police allege she used the money for include artwork for her family home, clothing, jewellery, electronic products and partially paying for overseas holidays.

The Financial Crimes Squad executed a search warrant at a residence in Wanneroo on April 1, when many items linked to the investigation were allegedly located and seized.

The Wanneroo woman was subsequently charged with 43 counts of stealing as a servant.

She is due to appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court on Friday.
